The beginnings of NardManga are indeed interesting (NOTE: the term interesting is used loosely). The culmination of comics over the years has sparked an ever growing flame of passion. The records of NardManga will be presented here, on this page that no one ever visits.
Bernard Wun, age 16, stumbled upon a website that shall forever be known as site x. This site offered many great things, an eyepleasing layout, green text, a list so large that it takes several minutes to load on a 56K connection and of course, free webspace. The young Bernard, unwary of the dangers that lay ahead, signed up for a site x account. Thus NardManga was born.
But what could Bernard possibly use to fill the free webspace he now posessed. Upload tons of smut? Upload tons of pornography? Upload tons of Hentai? Nay, nude images were far to nosebleed inducing for the young Bernard. So, with no choice left, he decided to draw comics for his free webspace (that was created for the purpose of comics).
And so the gears of Bernard's creative mind grinded against each other. The gears' teeth became hot and rusted. Bernard's psych could take no more. Luckily, he indeed managed to churn out a comic before he was administered to the mental institution for 3 months (oddly enough, the same amount of time required for the admins from site x to create Bernard's actual site).
The result was not pleasing.
For the comic that had been produced was named Life 2 Life and it was certainly a comic not meant for mortal eyes. Bernard drew several comics of this Life 2 Life and gave up quickly after. He was in need of another idea.
Fortunately, Bernard managed to conjure up another idea while in the mental insitution. This one would involve him, a black cat, a girl, an Asian playa' and some guy who plays basketball. The comic was to be named ... NardManga. Supposedly, it reflected Bernard's ideal life. Ludicrous.
But, he needed some feedback on his idea. So, going forth into the distance, Bernard trekked his way to Dreamwave Productions HQ and proposed his idea to the head of Dreamwave Productions. Let us assume that Bernard was gracefully turned down.
Next stop was Nelvana studios. Bernard marched his way into the studio and was not well received by the angry studio men. Let us assume that Bernard was gracefully turned down. Again.
With all hopes of a second opinion, Bernard wandered the streets for days. No one knows why and no one really wants to know why. It was simply meant to be. After 10 days, Bernard managed to wander his way back to his own house and began drawing up some comics for NardManga. After 6 wasted weeks, he realized that his new idea was just as bad as the old.
A crushed Bernard waited for High School to end for the summer before beginning his thinking process. The process took 2 hours. The result: what you see today. An assortment of random comics done entirely at random or whenever Bernard feels bored.
What is the predicted future for Bernard and his new NardManga? What wiley adventures and mean CEOs will he meet? Only time will tell.

So, NardManga has made it past it's 100th comic for some time now and here you are, reading about NardManga v2.0. Basically, for NardManga v2.0 I wanted a somewhat religious, post-apocolyptic world in which NardManga v2.0 characters could interact with. I also wanted to use some new characters that I had been developing. It was also a good excuse to kill off some characters that I didn't particularly like.
Asa Kaai. What can I say about Asa Kaai? He started as a High School/Late Junior High School kid who managed to survive the Potatarian assault that happened at the end of NardManga v1.0. He, along with a younger, spunkier girl (I had decided on serveral names for her as well as several different looks) were just going to travel around the world having as good a time as possible. Eventually they would have met up with the rest of the NardManga v1.0 crew and together they would search for a relic that would bring the world back.
This idea didn't fly.
As a result, I did some redesigns of Asa Kaai. I tried to give him a Japanese school boy look, and then a Chinese martial artist look and that eventually became what you see today. A Cleric who can kick some serious ass. ^.^ His hairstyle pretty much stayed the same throughout all this development and his costumed has changed here and there. The spunky girl was dropped ... or was she? *dum dum dummmmmmmm*
The new storyline with this new character was - well, I can't really tell you here. That'd just ruin everything. ^_- But I have things pretty much worked out with NardManga v1.0 characters coming back in. Of course, in addition to the new, more plot driven storyline I wanted to do my comics in a different way. Vertical panels.
I found that vertical panels went well with the new site design I came up with as well. Of course, not every page was done as a vertical panel. Sometimes, full page comics just offer me more freedom to draw larger characters. Speaking of which, NardManga v2.0 has two artists working on it. My brother, who goes by the alias Nuw Xeal, draws comics about Spudley, a Potatarian opposed to war. Updated every Wednesday, this comics is handled in a different manner from NardManga v2.0. It's a good read, I reassure you.
Ah yes. Grève Parfait. I like him. He's a nifty character for me to draw. I developed him as a new character after watching lots of Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou and modeled him after one of the funniest characters in that anime: Asabin Hideiki. Man, that guy's hilarious. So hilarious in fact that I wanted to make a character kind like him but more suited to the feel of NardManga v2.0. Thus, Grève Parfait was born.
What else can I say about NardManga v2.0? Well, if you really don't wanna read through the first NardManga v1.0 comics I'll give you a basic rundown of the most important happenings:
And there you have it. Pretty much everything you need to know about NardManga v2.0. If I'm forgetting something I'll probably add it in here sometime in the future. But for now, that's all. Thanks for reading NardManga v2.0 and I hope you continue to do so!
NOTE: In case any of you are wondering, when I'm done with the storyline for NardManga v2.0 I will continue to draw NardManga comics. Will it go into NardManga v3.0? I dunno. I'm probably gonna try some more wacky, shorter storylines. Maybe I'll call Serial Experiments NardManga (my brother suggested that one). We'll see.
